During 2018 we saw an increasing interest for older medium size vessel for domestic use in China, so in an effort to keep our fleet new and modern, we sold of the 1999 built Viking Chance. This second hand sales market quickly closed when the Chinese government implemented new regulation for all vessel joining the domestic trade having to be TIER 2 compatible. The new regulation came into force 1st September, and our Viking Chance got the needed import license for China domestic trade on 31st Aug(!).

But due to the new Owners having some challanges in obtaining the US dollars debt needed to buy the ship, (this became increasing difficult with trade wars between US and China) we had to wait a long time before we could final hand over the vessel to Chinese Owners on the 20th Dec.
